Mercury Retrograde in Aries, March 30, 2011 - April 23, 2011

Planet Mercury is the planet closest to the Sun
On March the 30th, 2011, Mercury will go retrograde in the sign of Aries, and this will affect our communication, appointments, meetings and our travel plans. In a negative way of course. Usually, Mercury turns retrograde 3 times every year. Last year though, Mercury turned retrograde 4 times, an exception. This year, the planet will turn retrograde 3 times as usual, but the last retrograde period of 2010, was still felt in the beginning of the year, so there will be kind of four such periods this year as well.

Mercury rules our thinking and our perception. It also rules our way of transmitting information, through communication, technology like computers, mobile phones, radio, television, email and education. Commerce and transportation fall also under Mercury's domain. The people working in this areas will be affected too: all from teachers, to writers, to journalists, to salespersons, to commentators and critics. Other affected groups will be astrologers and tarot readers, as Mercury has an occult side. One can expect under this period of time, misunderstandings and flawed communication, and other problems related to this area. Misinformation rules under this period, and making decisions or making up one's mind, is not advisable under this period of time. One piece of information might be missing or it might be wrong. Since the mind is clouded under such periods of time, one should be careful also when reading or signing something important. Our difficulty to make sense of everything that is happening might lead to frustration, but remember that this period of time, will restructure our thinking process, and should be seen as such.
When Mercury is retrograde in Aries, we will tend to become introvert, and we will sink in ourselves. As Aries is a cardinal sign, other cardinal signs, will be affected more by miscommunication and misunderstandings then others. Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will therefore have to be very careful.

Mercury is not alone in the sky however. Several other planets and aspects play their roles in the big cosmic play that is supposed to affect our lives on earth. To get a bigger picture, in interested, visit Astrologycom.com, where Rob Tillet will guide you through all possible aspects.
